Wauters features Patnekar’s biography alongside high-quality prints of his paintings, which focus primarily on nature and water bodies. The publisher plans to release the book in multiple languages soon, allowing it to reach a global audience.
Patnekar, now 60, began painting at the age of five. He trained under the guidance of Kala Maharshi K.B. Kulkarni and has since developed a unique artistic style. His mastery of watercolor, especially in capturing light and natural elements, sets his work apart.

Over the years, Patnekar has exhibited his paintings in countries such as the United States, France, Germany, and Japan. In 2019, he won the Los Hombres Más Destacados Del Año international award, which recognized his contribution to contemporary art.
In addition to public exhibitions, Patnekar has completed commissioned works for several international clients. These include filmmaker Richard Attenborough and leading banks in the U.S. and Europe. His ability to convey emotion through visual storytelling continues to attract attention.
Besides painting, Patnekar actively mentors emerging artists. He conducts workshops where he teaches watercolor techniques and encourages creative exploration. Through this work, he helps nurture the next generation of talent in India.
He splits his time between Belagavi and Mumbai. While Belagavi keeps him grounded in tradition, Mumbai offers him exposure to broader art circles and international opportunities.
Patnekar’s recent recognition through Regards Croisés highlights not only his individual talent but also shines a light on Belagavi’s growing presence in the global art scene. His journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring artists across the country.
