Belagavi: The All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) has demanded an investigation into alleged irregularities at Rani Chennamma University, Belagavi, citing reports of multi-crore corruption.

In a release, AIDSO district convenor Mahantesh Bilur referred to a complaint filed by Bengaluru-based RTI activist Dattatreya Kulkarni with the Lokayukta. The complaint reportedly alleges bribery, escalation of tender costs, supply of substandard materials, and violations of statutory norms in the printing and procurement of university certificates.
AIDSO said such allegations, if proven, indicate serious misuse of public funds and erosion of public trust in higher education institutions. The organisation demanded an immediate, impartial, and time-bound probe by an independent agency, strict action against those found guilty regardless of position, and greater transparency in procurement and examination-related processes.
Urging the Lokayukta and the State government to act decisively, AIDSO said corruption must be rooted out to safeguard public education.
