Belagavi: Udyambag Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly selling ganja near the Foundry Cluster on Utsav Cross Double Road in Belagavi.

The accused has been identified as Sagar Suresh More (29). Acting on information about the illegal sale of ganja, Udyambag Police conducted a raid near the public road adjacent to the Foundry Cluster and apprehended him.
Police seized 1.212 kg of ganja valued at ₹60,000 from the accused. They also confiscated a mobile phone worth ₹8,000, ₹310 in cash and a motorcycle valued at ₹35,000.
The total value of the seized items is estimated at ₹1,03,310.
A case has been registered at Udyambag Police Station under Crime No. 80/2026, invoking Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway.
Police Commissioner appreciated the efforts of CPI Mahantesh V. Hosapeti, PSI Praveen Biradar and the police personnel involved in the operation.
