Residents of Sadashiv Nagar, TV Centre, Kanbargi and other areas said water is being supplied only once every six to nine days, forcing many families to depend on borewells and private water sources.
Residents have demanded that water be supplied at least once every four to five days and expressed frustration over recurring shortages despite long-standing assurances of 24×7 water supply.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to use water judiciously amid below-average rainfall and limited reservoir storage. Sadashiv Nagar residents have also threatened to protest outside the Belagavi City Corporation office if the issue is not resolved soon.

L&T project manager Deepak Ubhayankar said the transformer failure at the Hidkal pumping station was responsible for the disruption. He said the transformer has been repaired and water supply has resumed, but the system could take another four to five days to stabilise.
The prolonged shortage has added to concerns among residents, particularly families without access to borewells or alternative water sources.
