Belagavi Airport is in the process of upgrading its air traffic surveillance infrastructure with the installation of the ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) system. The installation is being carried out by the CNS (Communication, Navigation and Surveillance) Department.

Once operational, the ADS-B system will enable more accurate and real-time aircraft tracking, helping air traffic controllers monitor flights with greater precision. The advanced system will also allow reduced aircraft separation minima, leading to improved airspace efficiency and enhanced safety.
The upgrade is expected to significantly strengthen air traffic management at Belagavi Airport and support the airport’s growing aviation operations.
