During the meeting, Shettar alleged that around 6,045 square meters of land in the Cantonment area had been allotted irregularly for the construction of a flower market complex without obtaining the necessary permission from the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC). He said the move could lead to a loss of lakhs of rupees to the Cantonment Board.
The MP also criticized officials for approving the resolution and conducting the tender process without consulting elected representatives, especially the local MP. He insisted that the earlier resolution be cancelled and the matter be brought before the board again for reconsideration.

However, Cantonment Board Chairman rejected the suggestion, stating that the resolution had already been approved in the previous meeting and would continue.
Following a heated exchange of words, Shettar condemned the chairman’s stance and walked out of the meeting in protest, creating a brief commotion during the session.
