Belagavi: Belagavi police have arrested a notorious gang involved in inter-state and inter-district vehicle theft and recovered 21 stolen vehicles worth approximately ₹95.5 lakh.

The arrests were made during the investigation of a case registered at the Marihal Police Station. Police arrested three accused from Bhadravati in Shivamogga district and Sangli in Maharashtra.
According to police, the gang used to travel to different cities at night and first steal two-wheelers. They would then use those stolen bikes to identify and steal four-wheelers parked in various places. The stolen vehicles were later sold in different locations, police said.

During the investigation, police recovered 21 stolen vehicles from the accused. Authorities said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other individuals involved in the case.
The operation was carried out by Marihal Police Station CPI I.R. Pattan Shetty, PSI Manjunath Hulakund, PSI Chandrashekhar, CCB PSI Manjunath Bhajantri and their staff. The City Police Commissioner and DCP have appreciated the team for successfully cracking the case.
