The civic body had earlier denied permission to conduct the event at the Sardar High School grounds. Despite this, several large hoardings were reportedly erected at prominent locations without approval, including one near Ramdev Hotel Circle that allegedly obstructed traffic signals.

Following complaints from citizens and directions from Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase, BCC commissioner Kartik M supervised the removal operation. Civic officials stated that action against illegal displays and encroachments would continue in the coming days.

“We are clearing unauthorised banners and hoardings based on public complaints. Earlier too, such displays were removed from Channamma Circle, but they reappeared,” the commissioner said.

Meanwhile, Shivam Associates has also come under scrutiny after complaints alleging untransparent financial dealings and collection of crores of rupees from the public, including retired soldiers, by promising a 3% monthly return.

Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has ordered an inquiry into the alleged investment scam. Authorities are expected to further investigate the financial activities linked to the firm.
