The landslide blocked traffic on the highway for several hours. Police and emergency personnel rushed to the spot, while JCB machines were deployed to remove the debris and restore vehicular movement.

With heavy rain continuing across the Western Ghats, authorities have issued a high alert for the Amboli Ghat region, warning of an increased risk of further landslides. Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously and avoid unnecessary travel through the ghat section during periods of intense rainfall.

Amboli Falls, a popular monsoon tourist destination, attracts thousands of visitors every year. The recent landslide has raised fresh safety concerns for travellers heading to the region during the ongoing rainy season.
