More than 400 public Ganesha idols are expected to be installed within the city, while the number could cross 1,100 across the extended Belagavi region. Authorities have set up single-window clearance centres to streamline permissions and ensure compliance with safety norms.
The festival is also expected to boost local businesses dealing in idols, decorations, flowers, fruits, jewellery, puja materials and clothing.
However, poor civic infrastructure remains a major concern. Several roads in market areas continue to have potholes and damaged stretches, prompting criticism over the pace of repairs.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has directed local bodies to clear roads, fill potholes and complete pending civic works. Belagavi City Corporation Commissioner Kartik M said steps are being taken to improve road conditions, while KUIDFC officials have been asked to properly restore roads damaged during excavation.
Members of the Ganeshotsava Mahamandal have urged authorities to complete repairs before the festival, warning that last-minute work could worsen traffic congestion and inconvenience devotees.
