New Locations Identified

Instead of the original site, the administration has shortlisted three alternative locations near Suvarna Vidhana SoudhaHindalaga, Kanabaragi, and Halaga. District Minister Satish Jarkiholi and Women & Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar recently inspected the Hindalaga site.

Project Details & Funding

The Karnataka government has sanctioned ₹50 crore for the project’s first phase. The new DC office complex will be built on 4 acres of land in Hindalaga, which falls under Belagavi Rural constituency. The facility will accommodate 31 district-level offices and is expected to ease traffic congestion in the city. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2025.

Reason for Relocation

Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar emphasized the importance of preserving heritage buildings while ensuring a spacious and accessible location for administrative functions. She noted that the existing DC office is in a high-traffic area, making relocation the best option.

A Long-Pending Project

The DC office complex project has been in discussion for over a decade. It gained momentum after Satish Jarkiholi became the Public Works Minister. The move to relocate ensures a modern administrative hub while safeguarding Belagavi’s historical legacy.

Stay tuned for further updates on the project!
