The district has 41.07 lakh voters spread across 18 Assembly constituencies. Of the 40,98,167 voter enumeration forms distributed, only 23,72,146 completed forms had been digitised as of Thursday evening.
Among the constituencies, Belagavi Rural has the highest number of voters at 2.66 lakh, followed by Arabhavi (2.65 lakh) and Gokak (2.60 lakh). Bailhongal has the lowest voter base with 1.96 lakh voters.
Officials said Booth Level Officers (BLOs), each assigned 800–1,000 voters, are carrying out door-to-door distribution and collection of forms. However, the digitisation process has slowed due to confusion over form-filling procedures, especially in rural areas.
Residents have reported difficulties in understanding the forms, while some voters have struggled to provide details of parents or grandparents required for verification. Calls have also been made for village-level support centres to help citizens complete the process.

The revision exercise has drawn attention from political parties, with both the Congress and BJP monitoring the drive. Congress leader and former MLA Anjali Nimbalkar said the party would closely watch the revision process to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan said officials have been instructed to conduct the exercise accurately and transparently, urging citizens to cooperate with the verification process.
The Election Commission has set August 8 as the revised deadline for completing the SIR exercise.
