It’s been around a week that the Govt. of Karnataka has officially declared the budget for the financial year 2021-2022. Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, who is also holding the portfolio of finance ministry of Govt. of Karnataka announced the budget in Vidhanasabhe session on Monday, 8th of March. The budget comprises various development projects like infrastructure, public transport and many more. The total allocated budget for the year 2021-22 is 2.46 lakh crore rupees.
What is in for Belgaum?
There was a huge demand for a railway line from Belgaum – Dharwad through Kittur. The central government announced this route in the last budget. Now the state government has provided around 460+ crore rupees for execution and development of this project.
Post Covid-19, a lot of people are conscious about safety, especially for the outside foods. Therefore, the govt. has decided to upgrade the regional food safety laboratories.
“Kolhapuri Chappal”, the famous slang which we Belgaumites use will soon to be manufactured in Nippani. The state government has released a grant of 2 crore rupees to build a Kolhapuri Footwear cluster.
Chief minister has also announced to open a Gau-shala in all the districts including Belagavi.
The state government has also announced to open a hi-tech water testing lab to study the regional water body contents.
A total of 50 thousand crore rupees has been allotted for development of Kittur district, to make it a tourist hub in north Karnataka.
Automated test tracks for driving will be established and inaugurated in Belagavi city.
