Belagavi, June 25: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at multiple locations linked to Y. Manjunath, Additional Commissioner of Excise and brother-in-law of Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi, as part of an ongoing investigation.

The searches began early Tuesday morning at Manjunath’s residence in Hanumanth Nagar, Belagavi, and extended to several other properties connected to him, his relatives, and close associates. Locations covered during the operation included Bengaluru, Mysuru, Arsikere, and Ainapur village in Athani taluk of Belagavi district.
According to sources, the ED action is linked to allegations involving the illegal transfer of money to foreign countries. Officials examined documents, financial records, and other materials during the searches.

Y. Manjunath is the son of former Ballari Member of Parliament Devendrappa. He is also connected to the influential Jarkiholi family through marriage, with his wife being the sister of Minister Satish Jarkiholi and BJP legislators Ramesh Jarkiholi and Balachandra Jarkiholi.
The ED has not yet issued an official statement on the findings of the searches. Investigations are ongoing.
