Belagavi: IndiGo has reduced its direct Delhi–Belagavi flight service from a daily operation to just three flights a week, effective July 1. The airline will now operate the route only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until October, while flight timings remain unchanged.

The decision is expected to affect business travellers, government officials, students and tourists who rely on the direct connection to the national capital. Passengers may now have to opt for connecting flights or adjust their travel plans, with concerns also being raised over possible fare increases due to reduced seat availability.
According to airline sources, the temporary reduction is due to operational and commercial factors, including rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) costs.

The move comes just weeks after IndiGo discontinued one of its two daily Belagavi–Bengaluru flights from June 15, leaving only a single daily service on the route.
The back-to-back cuts have drawn criticism from frequent flyers and industry representatives, who say Belagavi’s growing commercial and educational importance requires stronger air connectivity. They have urged IndiGo to restore daily flights on both the Delhi and Bengaluru routes at the earliest.
