The bus became trapped when its wheels sank into the slush, leaving it immobile in the middle of the road. The driver and conductor safely evacuated all passengers before joining local residents in efforts to free the vehicle. After nearly two hours of continuous work, the bus was finally pulled out.
The incident caused heavy traffic congestion on both sides of the busy interstate highway, with long queues of trucks, buses, and cars. Elderly passengers, women, and other commuters were forced to wait on the roadside as traffic remained disrupted.

Locals blamed the poor condition of the highway and alleged that despite its importance as a key route connecting Karnataka and Goa, authorities have failed to carry out timely repairs. They demanded immediate restoration of the road and warned of protests if urgent action is not taken.
