Sait assumed charge as BUDA chairperson on Thursday and said the authority would focus on infrastructure, employment generation and key urban development projects. Former BUDA chairperson Laxmanrao Chingale was also present.
Addressing the media, Sait said Belagavi has a large pool of engineering graduates and skilled professionals who are forced to move to other cities due to limited employment opportunities.
“Creating jobs through an IT park will be my primary focus,” Sait said, adding that efforts would be made to create a favourable environment for IT companies and entrepreneurs to invest in Belagavi.
He said improving infrastructure and transport facilities would be essential to attract technology companies and support the growth of the IT sector. Sait added that he would work at the grassroots level to turn the IT park proposal into reality.

The new BUDA chief also highlighted the need to expedite several pending projects, including the Kanabaragi housing project. He said necessary steps would be taken to ensure their implementation and accelerate Belagavi’s overall urban development.
Sait said his appointment was based on the decision of the party leadership and credited District Minister Satish Jarkiholi for the opportunity.
“Now the responsibility is to utilise this opportunity for the development of Belagavi,” he said.
