Belagavi, October 14: The Belagavi Market Police have arrested two individuals involved in the illegal sale of Goa liquor in the Samarth Nagar area of the city.

The team, led by PI Mahantesh Dhamannavar and PSI Vittal Havannavar, acted on a tip-off and raided the spot. They caught Manjunath Malagouda Gidageri and Yatiraj Ramchandra Parade transporting liquor without a license.

During questioning, the accused admitted that they had stored bottles in a rented room at Mahatma Phule Road, Shahapur, Hulabatti Colony. Police later searched the room and seized 128 liters of liquor worth ₹50,000, ₹50,680 in cash, and a motorbike used in the trade.
A case has been registered, and both men are now in custody. The Police Commissioner praised the quick action of the officers and staff involved in the operation, including PSI Vittal Havannavar, SB Khanapoore, LS Kadolkar, Naveenkumar AB, Asir Ahmad Jamadar, Suresh Kamble, Chikkanna Keranayak, Mahantesh Haroli, and Karthik GM.
Officials stated that strict measures will continue to curb the illegal sale of liquor in Belagavi. They also warned that anyone involved in such crimes will face tough legal action.
