Election officials are continuing the verification process to ensure eligible voters are not left out of the final electoral list.

According to official data, Belagavi district has 41.22 lakh registered voters across 18 Assembly constituencies and 4,525 polling stations. While 38.22 lakh voters have been successfully mapped, 2,99,870 voters remain unverified due to missing or incomplete records.
Among urban constituencies, Belagavi North has the highest number of unmapped voters at 71,293, followed by Belagavi South with 42,964 voters.
Officials said the current mapping exercise relies heavily on the 2001 voter list, creating difficulties where older records are unavailable. Residents have raised concerns that genuine voters may face challenges proving their eligibility due to missing family records and document mismatches.
To address the issue, Block Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house visits between June 30 and July 29. Voters are required to submit any one of the 12 documents approved by the Election Commission along with a self-attested declaration form.

Those who fail to provide the required information may be classified as absentee voters, making future re-enrolment more difficult.
Key Dates
- June 30 – July 29: Door-to-door verification by BLOs
- August 5: Draft voter list publication
- October 3: Last date for disposal of objections
- October 7: Final voter list publication
Officials also noted that several unmapped voters are currently living abroad or have migrated to cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad without removing their names from Belagavi’s voter rolls.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan assured that eligible voters who remain unmapped will be given another opportunity to submit valid documents and secure inclusion in the final electoral roll.
