Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda Mandir, located in the calm and green Tilakwadi area of Belagavi, is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places in the city. This temple is part of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), a worldwide spiritual movement that was founded in New York City in 1966 by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The Belagavi branch of ISKCON was started in 1987 and has since become an important center for spiritual learning and devotion in the region.

The beginnings of Krishna consciousness activities in Belagavi trace back to 1986 in a small village called Tirthakunde. What started as a small satsang, or spiritual gathering, slowly grew over the years. In 1992, the devotees moved their activities to Tilakwadi, where the temple now stands. Over time, this space became the center for many religious and spiritual activities. People from different backgrounds began to attend weekend gatherings, and the devotees also carried out programs in colleges, homes, and other public places during weekdays.
The temple has continued to grow, with a new ashram and kitchen recently completed as part of its first phase of expansion. Another special event that draws crowds is the Krishna Rath Yatra Mahotsav. This colorful chariot festival winds through the city streets and is a beautiful sight filled with music, dancing, and devotion. Many people gather to witness and take part in this joyful celebration.
Daily life at the temple follows a regular spiritual schedule starting early in the morning. The temple opens at 4:30 AM and closes at 8:40 PM. Throughout the day, different aratis (prayer ceremonies) and spiritual activities are held, such as Mangala Arati, Tulsi Puja, Srimad Bhagavatam discourses, and various darshans. These activities create a deeply spiritual environment and offer peace and purpose to those who participate.
Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda Mandir is more than just a temple — it is a place where people can connect with their inner self, meet like-minded individuals, and find peace through devotion and community. Whether you are a long-time follower of Krishna consciousness or someone looking to explore new spiritual paths, a visit to this temple in Belagavi promises a truly heartwarming and enriching experience.
