Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar chaired a review meeting at the District Collector’s Office to check the progress of major infrastructure works in the constituency. District Collector Roshan Mohammad and officials from NHAI, KIADB, and the Aviation Department attended the session.

MP Shettar reviewed the Belagavi–Hunagund–Raichur new highway project. Officials said that about 80% of land acquisition is already complete. The MP asked authorities to speed up the remaining process. He also directed them to release compensation to landowners in Navage and Belagundi without further delay.
The Ring Road and Bypass Road projects were another key topic. These roads aim to ease city traffic and improve connectivity around Belagavi. Shettar told departments to clear administrative issues quickly and finish the works within the planned time.
The meeting also covered the Belagavi Airport expansion. The MP stressed the need to settle the pending land issue with the Air Force soon. Once resolved, the airport can handle more flights and boost air services in North Karnataka. Officials assured him that talks are moving in a positive direction.
Shettar said that road and aviation projects are vital for Belagavi’s growth. He urged all departments to work together and maintain transparency. Timely completion, he said, will benefit both citizens and investors.
Special Land Acquisition Officers Jainapur and Chauhan, and NHAI Project Director Bhuvanesh Kumar, shared progress reports during the meeting. Shettar expressed confidence that these projects will soon bring major improvements to Belagavi’s infrastructure and economy.
