The child’s mother and local residents quickly rushed to her aid and drove the dog away. Aaradhya was first taken to Belagavi District Hospital, but staff reportedly asked the family to go to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi, despite the district hospital having a new super speciality facility. This refusal angered local residents.

After receiving a referral letter, Aaradhya was admitted to a private hospital in Nehru Nagar. Doctors recommended plastic surgery for her injuries. The estimated treatment cost is Rs 1.5–2 lakh, and the family is struggling to arrange the funds.
The stray dog that attacked Aaradhya has been captured and placed under observation at the ABC Centre in Srinagar. Authorities are monitoring the dog to prevent further attacks.
This incident raises concerns about stray dog attacks in Belagavi and highlights the need for stronger animal control measures to protect residents.
