The Chamber had earlier warned of protests after several flights were abruptly cancelled despite steady passenger demand, impacting business activities and the region’s economic growth. Representatives of IndiGo met the Chamber on Thursday, while Star Air representatives had held discussions a day earlier.

The Chamber stressed the urgent need to resume flights to major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Jodhpur, and also highlighted strong passenger demand for Varanasi and Kochi. Members pointed out that Belagavi is a growing export and industrial hub, and poor air connectivity could adversely affect the district.
Airline representatives assured that the Mumbai service would be resumed soon and said services to other cities would be reviewed in consultation with senior management. The possibility of introducing international flight services from Belagavi was also discussed during the meeting.
