The hike has impacted commonly consumed items such as idli, vada, puri-bhaji, pulao, and tea, with many establishments already revising their menus. The decision comes amid growing operational costs faced by small and medium-sized hotels, tea stalls, and street food vendors that heavily depend on LPG for daily cooking.

The Belagavi Hotel Owners’ Association said the sudden increase in gas prices disrupted business planning, leaving operators with little choice but to pass on the burden to customers.

Association president Ajay Pai stated that further price revisions may be unavoidable if LPG rates and raw material costs continue to rise. He also urged the Union government to step in and regulate commercial LPG prices to provide relief to the hospitality sector.

Consumers, meanwhile, are beginning to feel the pinch as the price hike adds to their daily expenses.
