BCC Struggles to Meet Tax Target Despite Revenue Rise
Belagavi:The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) collected Rs 70.8 crore in property tax for the financial year 2025–26, marking a slight increase from Rs 69.5 crore
Covid covid covid, from last 9-10 months we have heard enough and are tired of this Covid-19. Not only it killed nearly 17 lakhs of people, but it has also taught us to maintain cleanliness, not to gather around unnecessary and also to do everything in a disciplined manner. One of the perks of Covid-19 was to maintain social distancing so that there isn’t any way for the virus to transmit into another human. But recent scenarios in and around the Belagavi city shows that nobody is serious regarding Covid.
There are people flooded in the market without masks. Although the virus is not very effective on adults, it is dangerous to old people and kids due to their less immune system. But, many of the people including adults, kids and old ones are roaming without masks, no social distancing maintained and mainly no fear of virus. One of our volunteer reporters captured a video of a civil hospital, where people are rushing just to get the Covid-19 testing done. They aren’t maintaining any social distancing, no masks and no other safety measures taken. And the irony is that the hospital management is behaving like an audience and enjoying the show without taking any action. This might create a situation where the second wave can dominate on the city again just like the first one.
Team Marvelous Belgaum urges the concerned authorities to take action on such happenings and maintain social distancing so that we don’t have to get locked inside our houses again
