Belagavi: The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) on Thursday distributed 26 motorised three-wheelers to eligible persons with disabilities under its 5% grant scheme through the Poverty Alleviation Cell.

Speaking at the distribution programme, MLA Asif Sait said the government and the corporation have introduced several welfare schemes for persons with disabilities and urged beneficiaries to make the best use of them. He encouraged them to face challenges with confidence and lead independent lives.
Mayor Preeti Kamkar said the initiative reflects BCC’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities by improving their mobility and self-reliance. Deputy Mayor Hanamant Kongali added that the corporation will continue extending support to eligible beneficiaries through various welfare schemes.
The event was attended by BCC Commissioner Kartik M, ruling party leader Santosh Pednekar, standing committee chairpersons, deputy commissioners, chief engineer, corporators, and other officials.
