Shettar visited Marikatti Cross, Naganur, Inchal and Marakumbi villages in Bailhongal and Savadatti taluks to assess the issues on the ground. Local farmers had earlier informed the MP that the absence of proper connectivity to the new highway was making it difficult to reach their farmlands.

During the inspection, Shettar directed officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to examine the feasibility of providing service roads at the affected locations. He also instructed officials to consider increasing the height of under-construction culverts from 4.5 metres to at least 5.5 metres to facilitate the movement of agricultural vehicles and transportation of farm produce.

Bailhongal MLA Mahantesh Koujalagi, former MLAs V.I. Patil and Mahantesh Doddagoudar, along with NHAI officials and local leaders, were present during the inspection.
