Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Mutt, will grace the celebrations. The programme includes Bhagavannama Sankirtan, Sri Ramakrishna Homa, spiritual discourses, cultural events and classical music performances by renowned artists.

Swami Vivekananda had visited Belagavi on October 16, 1892, and stayed in the city for 12 days. During his visit, he stayed at the residences of Sadashiva Balakrishna Bhate and forest officer Haripada Mitra. The Bhate residence is now preserved as the Swami Vivekananda Memorial and houses several personal belongings associated with him.

Recognising the historical importance of the site inside Belagavi Fort, the Karnataka government handed over the building to the Ramakrishna Mission in June 2000. Later, the Vishvabhavaikya Mandir dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was inaugurated in 2004 under the guidance of Swami Purushottamanandaji Maharaj.

In 2011, a three-storey building with an auditorium was added to support conferences, cultural activities and value-based educational programmes.

Over the past 25 years, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram has undertaken several social service initiatives, including a free eye clinic, computer training for students, youth personality development programmes and scholarships for economically weaker students.
