Belagavi MP Seeks PRASAD Scheme Boost for Gokak Temples
Belagavi/New Delhi, March 18: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shetter on Wednesday met Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum seeking
“This Government is a waste body, it doesn’t know how to work. It should act like government and help the people” said a person to me. He continued this for another 15 mins. Then I politely asked him what’s his plan for 17th April. He asked me what’s there on 17th? Any government holidays? Any Jayanti’s? I said “there is a government holiday but it’s not for any Jayanti, its given because it’s voting day for by-elections for Belagavi MP seat. “Oh” he replied and said ” I believe it’s Saturday, so I will go for a small weekend vacation with my family”. I was shocked and asked him ” why are you complaining about government, when you don’t intend to vote”. He said “what will happen with one vote of mine. Nothing is going to change”. I showed him some instances where people won with a margin of one vote. He was zipped and shocked.
A lot of you readers might have witnessed the same situation which I narrated above. It is easy for many of us to speak about negative aspects of government, but when it comes to voting and choosing the right government for us, we maintain social distancing from it. Despite getting a holiday to cast our vote, we choose to skip voting and chill out that day and take elections lightly. But what we forget is that, if we chill for one day, there might be a wrong person elected and will chill for next 5 years.
But I am glad that there are few concerned citizens who are worried about their future. One of the videographer named Siddhesh Chandgadkar, who is on election duty met Sonubai Shahpurkar, a 104 year old lady who is ready to cast her vote in upcoming MP election. Its great to see that in this young age of 104 years, her morale is still high and is willing to elect the right person for her constituency. If she can do this, what is stopping us to sit in home or enjoy the weekend instead of voting. Let us all pledge that on 17th April 2021, we will get out of our home, following all the Covid protocols and cast our vote for the betterment of City.
