Customer is not a king for Vishal's Country Side's hotel.
In a shocking incident on the night of March 9, 2023, the team members of Marvelous Belgaum were brutally attacked by the staff of a “Vishal Countryside Hotel” at Sulaga, Belagavi where we had gone for dinner. The incident began when one of our team members requested the waiter to serve the food. However, instead of providing polite service, the waiter began to behave rudely and started abusing our team members, including the female members. The team members were shocked by his behavior and asked to speak to the owner of the hotel. And when our team members asked to speak to the owner, the situation quickly escalated, and the hotel staff began physically assaulting our team members. Instead of resolving the issue, the other staff members of the hotel, joined in and began to beat up the team members with kitchen utensils. The attack was brutal and continued for a few minutes. As the situation escalated, we realized that our safety, as well as the safety of our female team members, was at risk. Therefore, to counter the attack from the hotel staff and protect ourselves, as well as our female team members, we resorted to self-defense measures. As a result of our self-defense measures, we were able to protect ourselves and our female team members from harm. We also urge all individuals to learn self-defense techniques to protect themselves in case of such unexpected situations. Several members of the team suffered injuries. The incident has left the team members traumatized and deeply disturbed.
The team members of Marvelous Belgaum immediately informed the police about the incident. A team of police arrived at the hotel. The team members were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, and thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place in a civilized society and has left a lasting negative impression on us. As a customer, we expect to be treated with respect and dignity. The incident of the hotel staff attacking the team members of Marvelous Belgaum is a clear violation of law and order. It is essential to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future. The police must also take strict action against the culprits to set an example and deter others from such behaviour. It is the responsibility of every citizen to ensure that such incidents do not happen in our society.
Marvelous Belgaum condemns the attack and demands that the hotel staff be held accountable for their actions. The Marvelous Belgaum team also calls for justice. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for all people, regardless of gender, race, or any other factor. It is unacceptable that individuals should face violence and abuse simply for asking for service in a public place. We hope that the authorities will take swift action to ensure that justice is served in this case.
We demand for an immediate action against the hotel staff responsible for this incident and ensure that such behaviour is not repeated in the future. Additionally, we expect a formal apology from the hotel management for the trauma and inconvenience caused to our team members.
Justice for team Marvelous Belgaum.
