Belagavi, January 21, 2025 – The Congress party will host the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Sanvidhan’ convention in Belagavi on Tuesday, January 21. This event marks 100 years since Mahatma Gandhi led the historic Congress session in the city in 1924.

The event is part of the Gandhi Bharat programme and is expected to draw over 2 lakh Congress workers from across Karnataka. AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will be the key attendees.

- Mahatma Gandhi Statue Unveiling: At 10:30 AM, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi will be inaugurated at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha. This government programme honors Gandhi’s legacy and principles.
- Congress Party Convention: Following the statue unveiling, Congress leaders will address a gathering focused on the values of equality, justice, and democracy enshrined in the Constitution.
Preparations in Full Swing
Public Works Department and District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi has confirmed that all arrangements are on schedule. Leaders from Belagavi and Chikkodi districts have played an integral role in organizing the event. AICC General Secretary Randeep Surjewala is coordinating with local leaders to ensure the convention’s success.
Speaking to the media, Jarkiholi clarified there is no demand for changes in Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) leadership. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party. Additionally, he requested recognition for all leaders who contributed to the Congress district office construction.
