New Routes and Aircraft Upgrade
To enhance the travel experience, Star Air will introduce the advanced Embraer E175 aircraft on select routes. This aircraft includes a business-class cabin, offering passengers both increased comfort and capacity.
Notably, starting in May, the Belagavi–Mumbai–Kolhapur service will be upgraded to the E175, ensuring a premium experience on this busy route.
In addition, the Belagavi–Jaipur–Belagavi flights will continue to operate under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). This will ensure affordable travel options for passengers flying to regional destinations.
Flight Services Resuming and Launching Soon
Several other important routes are also set to begin or resume soon:
- Bengaluru–Belagavi–Bengaluru flights will resume from mid-April, reconnecting two major cities in Karnataka.
- The new Belagavi–Pune–Belagavi service is expected to launch in mid-April, providing better access to Maharashtra.
- Furthermore, Belagavi–Hyderabad–Belagavi flights will commence by mid-May, strengthening links between Karnataka and Telangana.
Thanks to these additions, both business and leisure travellers will benefit from greater convenience and flexibility.
Leadership Speaks on Regional Growth
Commenting on the expansion, Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of Star Air, said:
“At Star Air, our mission has always been to bridge regional connectivity gaps and provide a seamless flying experience. The introduction of the Embraer E175 aircraft with a business-class cabin marks a significant milestone in our journey.”
She further added that these new routes will not only improve connectivity but also create fresh opportunities for regional growth.
DGCA Approves Gondia–Indore Route
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted approval for Star Air to operate a new route between Gondia in Maharashtra and Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
However, although the airline has received the go-ahead, the actual start date will depend on aircraft availability.
Currently, IndiGo is the sole operator at Birsi Airport, Gondia, connecting the tribal district to Hyderabad.
