Belagavi: The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has begun preparations for the smooth and systematic celebration of Ganeshotsav in the city, with civic officials taking steps to ensure that the public does not face inconvenience during the installation and immersion of Ganesha idols.

Speaking at the BCC office on Monday, BCC Commissioner Kartik M said preparations within the corporation limits have already commenced. He noted that the city is expected to witness increased traffic for nearly 11 days as devotees and visitors from across Karnataka and neighbouring states arrive in Belagavi to participate in and witness the festivities.
Potholes, Procession Routes Being Addressed
As part of the preparations, the BCC has started filling potholes on roads and cleaning the routes that will be used for Ganeshotsav processions.
The civic body is coordinating with various government departments, including the police and Hescom, to ensure that arrangements are made effectively and that the festival passes off smoothly.
Immersion Arrangements Reviewed
Commissioner Kartik said the Ganesha idol immersion pits have been inspected and necessary measures are being taken to provide the required facilities for devotees and Ganeshotsav mandals.
Technical assistance will also be made available during the immersion process to ensure that the activity is carried out safely and efficiently.
Appeal for Public Cooperation
Kartik urged the office-bearers of Ganeshotsav mandals and members of the public to cooperate with the BCC and other government departments during the celebrations.
With large crowds expected throughout the 11-day festival, the civic body has stressed the importance of public cooperation to manage traffic, maintain cleanliness and ensure the safe installation and immersion of Ganesha idols.
The BCC said it is working in coordination with the concerned departments to make the upcoming Ganeshotsav celebrations safe, orderly and hassle-free for residents and visitors.
