The modern terminal was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on October 4. It includes a three-storey building, 28 bus bays, comfortable seating, ticket counters, restrooms, lifts, and escalators. However, the facility has not yet been handed over to the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC).

Currently, city and suburban buses run from a temporary section of the Central Bus Terminal. Commuters struggle with poor lighting, lack of platforms, and limited shelter.
NWKRTC Divisional Controller K.L. Gudennavar said, “We haven’t received the official handover yet. Once it’s done, we’ll start full-scale operations.”
Belagavi Smart City Limited Managing Director Shubha B mentioned that a final inspection is in progress. “We’re ensuring all facilities work properly before handing over. The process won’t take much longer,” she added.
Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar criticized the early inauguration. “Why inaugurate the terminal before it’s ready for use?” he questioned.
