Belagavi: Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has clarified that the Congress government in Karnataka did not come to power because of a single individual. Speaking to reporters, he said the victory was the result of the collective efforts of several leaders, MLAs and thousands of party workers across the state.

His comments come amid increasing discussions about a possible change in Chief Minister and cabinet reshuffle. Responding to Home Minister G. Parameshwara’s recent statement that he is also a CM aspirant, Jarkiholi said Parameshwara is fully qualified for the role and had contributed significantly to strengthening the party, especially during the 2013 elections.

He added that as SC, ST and OBC communities largely support the Congress, there is nothing wrong in Parameshwara expressing his aspirations.
Jarkiholi emphasized that decisions regarding leadership changes are entirely up to the party high command. However, he reiterated that no one should claim sole credit for bringing Congress to power, as it was the combined hard work of many.
