Belagavi: Yesterday (Tuesday), a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team from Delhi conducted a surprise raid at the Belagavi Cantonment Board office following serious allegations of corruption in tender allocation and illegal recruitment.

The CBI officers inspected key files, verified official records, and began gathering evidence related to alleged financial irregularities. Sources said complaints submitted to the CBI in Delhi had accused senior board officials of large-scale mismanagement of funds, manipulation in contract awards, and irregularities in development works within the cantonment limits.
The sudden arrival of the investigation team created tension among staff members as officials scrutinized documents linked to tenders and appointments.
The probe is expected to intensify in the coming days, with more documents likely to be examined and statements recorded as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds.
