Kadadi met the Speaker in New Delhi on Monday to explain the background of the decision taken by Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan, following a complaint filed by Mane. He said the restriction was imposed to maintain peace and order, as the MP intended to attend a “Black Day” protest in the border district.

Highlighting Belagavi’s sensitive location bordering Maharashtra and Goa, Kadadi said people of different linguistic communities live there harmoniously, but certain protest events often lead to provocative speeches and tension. In such situations, he said, it is the district administration’s responsibility to prevent unrest.

Kadadi maintained that the Deputy Commissioner’s order was constitutional and did not violate the MP’s rights. Speaker Om Birla gave a patient hearing and assured that the matter would be examined thoroughly, stating that no unilateral decision would be taken.
