Kosambe Inspects Khadebazar Police Station

Belagavi, Feb 14: Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) Chairperson Shashidhar S. Kosambe conducted a surprise inspection at the Khadebazar Police Station in Belagavi city on Friday and reviewed the functioning of the Special Juvenile Police Unit.

During the visit, he directed officials to install permanent display boards containing details of designated officers, including their names, addresses, and contact numbers, in accordance with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the Model Rules, 2016. He also instructed the police to prominently display the Child Helpline number 1098 at the station.

Mr. Kosambe inspected the child cases register and the records of the Open House programme and instructed officials to ensure proper maintenance of all records. He emphasized that cases related to child kidnapping, POCSO, child marriage, and other child-related offences must be reported within the stipulated time as per rules.

The Chairperson also directed the concerned Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to prepare a list of deficiencies in police stations and submit it to the Superintendent of Police for necessary action.

ACP (Crime) and Senior Child Welfare Police Officer Raghu J, along with District Child Protection Officer Dr. Parveen, were present during the inspection.
