Urban Development Minister B.S. Suresh informed the Legislative Council that a grant of Rs 170 crore has been allocated to the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) for development works in the city.

Responding to a question raised by MLA Talwar Sabanna during the Question Hour, the minister said the funds were provided to support various civic and infrastructure projects under the corporation.
He further stated that the Belagavi City Corporation has prepared an estimate of Rs 15 crore to provide basic facilities such as roads, underground drainage (UGD), and electricity connections in the Devaraj Urs KHB Layout at Basavanakuduchi in the city.

The minister clarified that this Rs 15 crore proposal is a separate grant, apart from the Rs 170 crore already allocated to the corporation.
The proposed works are aimed at improving essential infrastructure and providing better basic amenities to residents in the area.
