A protest was staged in Belagavi city by members of Sri Ram Sene against a banner allegedly put up in support of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The protest was led by Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik at Ashok Circle and Kolhapur Circle in the city. Activists expressed their anger by displaying posters and banners during the demonstration.
During the protest, the activists also displayed posters supporting Israel’s Prime Minister and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A poster depicting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj slaying Afzal Khan was also displayed as a mark of protest.
Belagavi city police had appealed to the public not to put up any banners. However, Sri Ram Sene workers went ahead with the display and raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” during the protest.
