Belagavi, Chikodi Climb SSLC Ranks; State Topper

Belagavi: Both Belagavi and Chikodi educational districts have shown notable improvement in the SSLC 2025–26 results, securing 18th and 23rd ranks in the state respectively, compared to 25th and 26th positions last year.

Belagavi recorded a pass percentage of 94.7%, with 29,241 students clearing the exam out of 30,860 who appeared. Chikodi achieved a 94% pass rate, with 39,049 students passing out of 41,500 candidates.

A major highlight this year is Prarthana Nagappa Biradar from Chikodi educational district, who emerged as the state topper by scoring a perfect 625 out of 625 marks. In Belagavi, 65 students scored between 615 and 624, while in Chikodi, two students secured 624 marks, joining the list of top achievers.

Leelavati Hiremath, Deputy Director of the School Education & Literacy Department, Belagavi, credited the improved performance to the combined efforts of teachers, parents and guardians despite several challenges. She said steps will continue to strengthen educational outcomes.

Seetaram RS, Deputy Director in Chikodi, highlighted the success of the “Oduva Mane” (reading house) initiative, which aimed to create a focused learning environment and encourage more students to appear for exams. He expressed satisfaction that the district’s overall result crossed 94%, in line with strong performance across the state.
