Two Boys Die After Falling Into Well in Belagavi

Belagavi, May 4: In a tragic incident, two minor boys lost their lives after falling into a well near the Kapileshwar Temple, also known as ‘Dakshina Kashi’, on Sunday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when a portion of the well’s wall suddenly collapsed. The boys had reportedly been swimming in the nearby Kapileshwar pond and later sat on the edge of the adjacent well when the structure gave way, causing them to plunge into the deep well.

The deceased have been identified as Shivam Parashuram Sundikar (7), a resident of Jed Galli in Shahapur, and Parashuram Raju Nilajkar (11), from Shivaji Nagar in Belagavi.

Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), quickly reached the spot and launched rescue operations. Despite their efforts, both children could not be saved.

The incident triggered panic and grief in the area, with family members and locals rushing to the scene. Authorities also deployed cameras inside the well and began pumping out water as part of the search and recovery efforts.

The tragedy has left the community in deep shock and mourning.
