Belagavi: With Ganeshotsav approaching, HESCOM has stepped up repair and maintenance work across Belagavi to ensure uninterrupted and safe power supply during the festival.

As part of the preparations, HESCOM carried out maintenance work on Sunday, including the removal of old power lines and electric poles. The work led to power outages in several parts of the city.
Power supply was disrupted in Tilakwadi, Hindwadi, Goaves, Congress Road, Patil Galli, Tilak Chowk, Cantonment, Maruti Galli, Shivaji Colony, Mandoli Road, Shahapur and Kapileshwar.
HESCOM officials said the maintenance work is being undertaken about 15 days ahead of Ganeshotsav to address monsoon-related issues such as carbon deposits on power lines and reduced clearance of overhead wires.
Repair work was also carried out on the transformer near Siddhivinayak Temple in Pangul Galli, affecting power supply to Pangul Galli and Bhendibazar.
HESCOM stated that repair and maintenance work in the remaining areas will be carried out next week. The department has appealed to residents to cooperate with the scheduled power interruptions as preparations for the festival continue.
