The corporation has set a property tax collection target of ₹85–90 crore for the current year. Officials suspect that some establishments are paying tax based on lower built-up areas than those actually in use.

The drive covers major industrial and commercial areas, including Udyambag, Auto Nagar and Ward 18 along Khanapur Road. More than 8,500 industrial and commercial properties come under the BCC limits.

Special teams have been deployed across all three revenue zones to verify property measurements and records. Officials are also checking for commercial properties registered as residential, unassessed structures and discrepancies in property details.

BCC Commissioner M Karthik said the exercise is aimed at determining the correct tax liability and preventing revenue leakage. Property tax assessments will be revised wherever discrepancies are found, and outstanding dues will be recovered as per rules.
