Belagavi: The North Belgaum Industries Association (NBIA) has raised concerns over poor infrastructure, inadequate civic amenities and unresolved ownership issues in the Honaga, Kakti and Kangrali industrial areas.

The concerns were discussed at the association’s annual general body meeting in Belagavi. The NBIA has more than 100 members representing over 300 industrial units and providing direct employment to more than 5,000 workers.
According to the association, roads in the Honaga industrial area have not been asphalted for nearly 15 years and several stretches are filled with potholes, creating difficulties for workers and commuters, particularly during the monsoon.
The NBIA also highlighted incomplete stormwater drainage, leaking water pipelines, inadequate street lighting and repeated road cutting for utility works without proper restoration.
Another major concern is the lack of ownership documents. The association claimed that more than 50% of industrialists still do not have proper ownership records despite operating in the region for over three decades.
The NBIA said resolving these issues is crucial to supporting existing industries, maintaining investor confidence and improving the business environment. It plans to meet ministers and senior government officials to seek time-bound solutions.
