The state of Karnataka has recently finished the Gram Panchayat elections. Many won, many lost. A lot of family members also contested against each other. Many strange incidents came up where a son won against his mother, a wife against her husband etc.
But one of the weirdest thing that happened in Sultanpur village, Hukkeri taluk, Belagavi district was a murder within family. Yes, a brother who lost against his brother has murdered him out of envy and sore loss. Basheer Mulla’s panel had won 10 seats against Shabbeer Mulla’s panel. From the last ten years, Shabbeer Mulla had won in Gram Panchayat. However, due to no development activities in the village, the villagers choose to vote Basheer over Shabber. The family members of Shabbeer Mulla weren’t able to digest the loss and went to quarrel with the Basheer Mulla family. The verbal violence turned into a physical violence which resulted in the death of Shanur Mulla, a winning panel member and brother of Basheer Mulla. The Hukkeri police have arrested Jahangir Mulla, Sultansab Mulla, Hasansab Mulla, Dastgeer Mulla, Tousif Mulla and Mosinsab Khaji and are investigating this case.
