Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a meeting with various farmer organisation leaders at Suvarna Soudha, assuring them that the government is committed to resolving the issues raised by sugarcane growers and other farming communities. He noted that the government is already providing a ₹5-per-litre milk incentive, amounting to nearly ₹5 crore per day, and has initiated measures to ensure scientific sugarcane yield assessment to prevent malpractice in sugar factories.

During the discussion, farmer representatives highlighted several key demands, including 12-hour uninterrupted power supply for irrigation, higher compensation for crop damage caused by wild animals, revival of the Akrama-Sakrama scheme, creation of a corpus fund for farm produce procurement, appointment of veterinarians at the panchayat level, and filling vacant posts at the Sugar Commissioner’s Office in Belagavi.

The Chief Minister reassured farmers that the government is committed to providing 7 hours of quality power daily and will explore extending supply as power generation increases. He emphasised that the government will not let farmers down and will continue sincere efforts to deliver fair and timely resolutions to all agricultural issues.
