Belagavi: Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has recommended the suspension of the Belagavi South sub-registrar in connection with an alleged fake land registration case involving forged documents and impersonation.

The case pertains to the registration of land belonging to Digambar Kulkarni, a Hubballi resident who passed away nearly 39 years ago. Despite this, official records reportedly showed him as personally appearing before the sub-registrar’s office for the transaction.
The issue came to light following a report published by The Times of India. Acting on the matter, the DC directed officials to initiate action against the concerned officer and ordered the registration of an FIR.
Officials also found another similar land transfer linked to the same deceased owner, raising serious concerns over verification procedures in sub-registrar offices.
