Although the dress code has not yet been formally enforced, temple authorities have started creating awareness among visitors. Signboards have been placed at the entrance informing devotees that entry in inappropriate or indecent attire will not be permitted inside the temple.

According to the temple committee, the decision was taken following a noticeable rise in visitors wearing western outfits and filming social media reels near the Shivalinga, which authorities believe could hurt religious sentiments.

The temple receives hundreds of devotees every day, with especially heavy crowds on Mondays and during Amavasya. Staff members have been advising devotees to follow traditional attire while visiting the temple as part of the ongoing awareness campaign.

Temple secretary Abhijit Chavan said the initiative is aimed at maintaining the spiritual atmosphere of the temple. He added that stricter implementation of the dress code is expected during the Shravan month.

Along with the dress code initiative, the temple has also revised its closing timings. The temple will now remain open until 9.30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday and until 10.30 pm on Mondays.

Temple authorities stated that the awareness campaign, which began on May 18, has so far received a positive response from devotees.
