Belagavi, June 22: District In-charge Secretary and Cooperation Department Secretary Sanjay Shettennavar has directed officials to conduct the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls with complete transparency and without any lapses, ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral process.

Chairing a review meeting of various departments at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Saturday, Shettennavar emphasized the need for officials and staff engaged in the revision exercise to carry out their duties with utmost care and responsibility. The special revision process is scheduled to be conducted from June 30 to October 7 across the district.
He instructed officials to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines while adding new voters or deleting names from the voter list. Adequate awareness should also be created among eligible voters to avoid confusion during the revision process, he said.
Focus on Industrial Growth
The District In-charge Secretary noted that several major industries have expressed interest in setting up operations in the district. He directed concerned departments to ensure timely availability of land and other essential infrastructure and sought status reports on proposals submitted by large industrial units.
Preparations for Delayed Monsoon
With the southwest monsoon arriving late this year, Shettennavar instructed officials to take preventive measures to avoid drinking water shortages in rural areas. He also directed authorities to ensure sufficient availability of seeds and fertilizers for farmers as the sowing season begins.

93% Voter Mapping Achieved
Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan informed the meeting that Belagavi district has made significant progress in voter mapping. Of the district’s 41.22 lakh voters, mapping has been completed for 38.22 lakh voters, achieving 93 percent coverage across all 18 Assembly constituencies.
The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Bhorase Gulabrao Bhushan, Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde, IAS probationer Rohit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vijaykumar Honakeri, and officials from various departments.
